I saw a screenshot of Norton Internet Security 2009 and it had an advanced firewall, but does Norton Antivirus 2009 have one? Norton Antivirus 2008 had a basic one. So I would like to know if the 2009 version still includes it. Thank you.

I’m installing some subwoofers in my car and wondering where the firewall is, and where the best spot is to put the wires through. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I meant where a hole in the firewall is, not where is the firewall. lol.

Norton Security vs. Microsoft Windows
I’m going back and forth with both and according to answers to my previous question, I should only use one…. but which?

My firewall keeps giving alerts about attempts to access my computer. How can I find eliminate the problem?
Filed Under Firewall | 7 Comments
I keep getting the following Zone Alarm Security Alert:
Protected
The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (NetBIOS Session) from 76.80.22.13 (TCP Port 1602)[TCP Flags: S].
They always come in pairs of 2, and so long as my computer is on (I have a cable modem, so it’s always connected to the Internet), I keep getting these messages. At times they come so fast I can’t get work done because they keep popping up every couple of minutes. Other times, it’s a few hours.
I’ve tried Spybot Search Destroy, AdAware, Spyware Doctor, TweakNow RegCleaner, and didn’t see anything strange in HiJack This.
For some reason, my computer (it’s using Windows 2000), won’t use TrendMicro’s online virus scan (keeps restarting the scan), so that’s been no help (even switching kernels).
I can’t seem to figure out how to get rid of these damned alerts, and they’ve been going on for a few weeks now no matter what I do. Please, any suggestions to fix it would be appreciated!
While the problem has been going on for a while, it hasn’t been since I installed the firewall. It’s been much more recent. So it’s not just a configuratio9n problem with the firewall (unlesss someone knows something I don’t as to why it only more recently started doing it and not when I installed and configured the firewall).
I know I can turn off the alert, but since it’s a more recent problem, I’d rather get to the root of the problem, not just hide the symptoms.

How can I get past my university’s network firewall to make a p2p program work?
Filed Under Firewall | 4 Comments
I’m trying to get a p2p file sharing program and nothing is working. I’ve tried Morpheus, Bearshare, Blubster, and others but after they search and find a file none of the programs will actually connect to a user and download it. Limewire won’t even connect! I’ve been troubleshooting (adding exceptions to my firewall, opening ports, etc.) and I’ve come to the conclusion that the network at my university (I have high speed internet in my dorm in college) probably blocks my ability to transfer files in a p2p program. Is there anything I can do to get past this or any other program that could make it work?
Thanks!
Jena
