My dad has blocked a bunch of various websites from me and I want them unblocked now. How doI get into our Netgear router and unblock them from the firewall? I don’t have his username and password so I don’t know what to do.

And don’t suggest proxy websites because some of the things don’t work on them (ex:I can’t post bulletins on myspace, can’t post comments or reply to messages, or look through friend list)

Can anyone please help.

I’ve got an old XP machine and a new Vista machine I networked together on my home lan, and they can see each other in the workgroup just fine and use file and print sharing, but only as long as their Windows Firewalls are turned off. I suspect this might be fixed by setting my Windows Firewall exceptions differently, but I’m not sure. Has anyone else had this problem?
One of the exceptions I have is to let File and Printer sharing through the firewall, but it still doesn’t work. They can’t even see each other in the same workgroup unless the firewall is turned off.

I am at work and i get internet access but it wont let me use my Downloading program because a firewall is blocking it from doing so. How do i get past it?

Right now I have a linksys router (WRT54G) but I don’t think it has a firewall in it. I use software as my firewall, but am looking into a hardware one. Are they just as efffective as software firewalls? Thanks for your answers.
