I have gone through the Firewall shortcut in Control panel and have turned the firewall off and then under recommendations I chose that I have a different firewall. Depending on what program I use to access a particular computer over the network, it turns itself back on. This is becomming a problem as you can not regain control of the computer unless you go to its location and turn it off again. I really just want to make it go away permanently.

Go to Start - Run - type services.msc
Then find Security center and turn it off.

Try shutting off these Windows Services:
Go to Start - Run - type services.msc. Disable and Stop Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing and Application Layer Gateway
Disabling these may or may give you problems if you are in a LAN(network).
