What is the name of the piece that connects the hose to the heating coil on the firewall?

My husband and I are trying to fix the hose that connects to the engine. I guess it has something to do with cooling the engine down. We had an EGR valve put on during the summer. The shop that did the work cut the pipe that the hose was connected to. Therefore my car was leaking radiator fluid and over heating. Now we need to find out what is the name of this piece so we can find out how to fix it.

The shop if they dont fix see bbb or chamber of commerce and possibly lawyer.
