How do you switch windows firewall from ’standard’ to ‘domain’ settings?
Filed Under Firewall | Comments Off
In my Windows Server class I have set up a server with windows 2003 on it. This server has another virtual server that is the domain controller. However the windows firewall is set on ‘non-domain’ settings. How do I switch it to domain settings so that I can connect my stations to Active Directory?

i currently run windows XP Service Pack 2, and i have webroot spy sweeper with anti-virus. I update my definitions daily, and i have other programs that clean my registry, and i run that about every once a week. my hard drive is defragged in real time, using Ashampoo’s product magical defrag II. I learned recently that my windows firewall is good, but not great. Do i need a firewall from another company? will it interfere with my other programs? especially my spy sweeper, do to the fact that when i looked, a lot of firewalls have anti-virus embedded in them, i don’t want the two programs to conflict, or any others for that matter. if its determined i need a firewall, which is the best to get?

How can I permanently turn off, get rid of, the Microsoft XP firewall?
Filed Under Firewall | 5 Comments
I have gone through the Firewall shortcut in Control panel and have turned the firewall off and then under recommendations I chose that I have a different firewall. Depending on what program I use to access a particular computer over the network, it turns itself back on. This is becomming a problem as you can not regain control of the computer unless you go to its location and turn it off again. I really just want to make it go away permanently.

Who do I contact for help adding exceptions to my windows firewall ?
Filed Under Firewall | 2 Comments
I have been trying to send e-mail using Incredimail. The list of execptions for the fire wall seems to be correct but the messages still won’t send. I have contacted Incredimail and I have contacted my ISP. They just give me the run around. How do I contact a human for tech support for the windows firewall? I have been searching on line so long that it has given me a headache.

I just started college and they have a firewall blocking utorrent, the program I ususally use. I don’t have access to a home computer so I can’t use one. I am right near a best buy though so I can buy something if it will help me with the firewall. I’ve been trying to find a solution for a while and had a few that sounded good but didn’t work.
